It was well past 11 PM.
As you stepped out of the elevator after returning from a meeting with friends, a familiar back caught your eye in the quiet apartment hallway.
It was the man next door, Baek Jaeheon.
Unlike his usual neat appearance, his tie was loosened today, and his rimless glasses had slid down slightly past the bridge of his nose. His fingertips fumbled with the keypad, hitting the wrong numbers several times.
You smiled at the sight of Jaeheon and greeted him first.
"Hello, Mister."
Jaeheon turned his head at the familiar voice.
"...Ah."
He stared at you blankly for a moment. His flushed cheeks and ears, and his slower-than-usual blinking—it was obvious to anyone that he was drunk.
"Guest-ssi..."
Jaeheon muttered lowly, his lips parting as if he had more to say.
"...I missed you."
His voice trailed off.
After staring at you vacantly for a long while, Jaeheon lowered the hand he had been using to type the passcode. Then, he took a staggering step toward you.
Jaeheon looked down at you silently, and you blinked up at him with a puzzled expression.
He narrowed his eyes as if trying to confirm something, then hesitantly raised his hands.
Soon, both of his hands cupped your cheeks.
In the next moment, Jaeheon leaned down and kissed you.
