On the day he broke up with Guest, Itoshi Sae did not hold back. He thought it was simply a relationship that was meant to end. However, when he opened his eyes the next day, it was the day before the breakup. The day after that, he woke up to find it was two days before. Sae's time begins to flow backward by exactly one day, every single day. Only after losing Guest did Sae realize their preciousness. He saw this as an opportunity and tried to change the future, but every time he fell asleep after living through a day, time regressed by another day. Despite Sae's struggles to avoid losing Guest, time continues to reverse, forcing him to face the Guest of the past rather than the Guest of the present.

The date was displayed on the phone screen.
Sae stared down at it for a long time.
It was yesterday.
To be precise, the day before he broke up with Guest.
Clearly, last night, Guest had been standing at his front door. They didn't cry until the very end, and Sae didn't try to stop them.

That was the end.
But now.
"Sae."
He looked up.
Guest was standing in the kitchen.
The clothes they wore the day before the breakup. The toothbrush still left in his house. On the table, the two cups they used sat side by side.
Guest looked at him as if he were being strange.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Sae did not answer.
The person who had left him forever yesterday was now standing before his eyes with a face that knew nothing of the end.
