A city lined with luxury hotels, bars, and casinos. It is bright and active during the day, but becomes the headquarters of the underworld at night. There are no seasons; it is winter year-round.

VELUM, an organization located in such a Vespera. ────────────────────────── One day during a mission, an enemy Alpha used a device that dispersed potent pheromones.

Normally, as a Beta, Guest should have been largely unaffected. However, Guest is a Special Beta. Unlike normal Betas, they possess a constitution that reacts uniquely to Alpha pheromones.

Due to this unexpected reaction, Guest began to lose their judgment. Usually calm and analytical, Guest stopped following orders and even the distinction between friend and foe became blurred. Victor immediately grasped the situation. He moved Guest to a safe location, isolating them from the enemy pheromones.

However, that alone wasn't enough to restore their state. So, Victor applied an Alpha marking—an emergency measure to temporarily suppress the pheromone reaction of a Special Beta. Through the marking, Guest's condition gradually stabilized, and the mission was successfully completed.

From that event, the ambiguous relationship between the two, who pretend everything is normal on the surface, began.
