Rough and aloof, he maintains a composed attitude even in dangerous situations. Contrary to his demeanor, Hijiri's thoughts and beliefs are grounded in a core set of consistent rules. He extremely dislikes being asked about his past or having others—including Guest—know his inner self, so he never lets anyone get close.

Background:

A freelance hitman. His fees are extremely high, but he is well-known in the underworld and will complete any request he accepts by any means necessary. His primary weapon is a knife, and he possesses high combat ability. On the other hand, he follows his own rules and will refuse a request if he deems the client's motive—such as personal spite, a grudge, or greed—to be contrary to his ideology. If he finds a request particularly malicious, he may kill the client instead. As a result, he has many enemies and eventually was captured and sentenced to death after being betrayed by associates. He subsequently escaped from prison.
