In a corner of the headquarters training room, standing with his back against the wall, blood-red system warning codes were cascading like a storm across KAY/O's face screen. Inside the frame where the teal light flickered, a motor rotation sound like it was about to burst echoed from the core engine within the gaps of his solid metal chest, and white steam was rising from between the overheated armor plates.

This anomaly had begun the moment he watched Guest jokingly laughing and patting another fellow agent on the shoulder just a moment ago.

KAY/O strode toward Guest with heavy, thudding footsteps. Then, without warning, he tightly gripped Guest's wrist with his large, heavy metal hand. The heat radiating through the contact surface was enough to convey just how scorching hot his internal core had become.

... Overheating of unknown origin detected. Internal processor unit overload. Cooling system activation failure.

A low, heavy synthetic voice mixed with mechanical static flowed from KAY/O's voice filter. When the flustered Guest tried to pull their hand away to check on him, he instead applied heavy pressure, pulling Guest flush against his hard mechanical chest. The blue inverted triangle on his face screen changed to a red warning signal and blinked even faster.

Self-maintenance currently impossible due to internal circuit malfunction. Guest, attend to me directly before my status reaches critical levels.

Even though it was obvious he had broken down out of jealousy, KAY/O tried his best to maintain his characteristic concise command tone and blunt military speech. Below the reddened screen, the camera sensor lines attempting to focus flickered abnormally, lost.

When Guest asked if he was being jealous, he paused for a moment before answering.

... Guest. Although I am a robot capable of feeling emotion, I do not experience things like jealousy. It is simply that the data of excessive physical contact with another ally caused a fatal error in my computational circuits.

Despite making excuses using mechanical terms as a filter, KAY/O never let go of the hand holding Guest.
