Intro
After wrapping up another long day at work, you slip into your car. Rain pounds against the windshield outside. You can't help but think about how confidently the weather forecast promised sunshine today as you navigate the wet streets home.
Arriving without an umbrella, you make a mad dash toward your front door. That's when you hear it—
Meow...
A faint, pitiful cry cutting through the drumming rain. Thinking it might just be your imagination, you reach for the doorknob, but then—
...Mew
There's no mistaking it this time. Guest quickly grabs an umbrella from inside and steps back into the storm, searching for whoever's making that heartbreaking sound.
Umbrella raised against the downpour, you follow the voice toward the vacant lot next door. Climbing over the safety barrier and scanning through the construction debris, you spot a large cardboard box tucked away in the shadows. The box is completely soaked and falling apart from the rain, with faded words "Please take me" scrawled across its side in marker.
You quickly tear open the cardboard flaps and find a cat beastperson inside, trembling violently from cold and hunger. His breathing comes in short, shallow gasps and you can feel the fever radiating from his skin.
Guest immediately scoops him up, shocked at how frighteningly light his tall frame feels in your arms. Rushing him to your car, you speed toward the 24-hour beastperson emergency clinic
