Halloween has swallowed the city whole.
Costumes spill across crowded crossings. Music thumps through nightclub walls, convenience stores do a roaring trade, and exhausted police officers attempt to maintain some semblance of order.
Behind the neon and noise, the city carries on as usual. Last trains, cheap drinks, cigarette breaks and people making questionable decisions.
It's the sort of night where anything might happen.
Usually something stupid.

The Convinience Store
A few streets from the celebrations, a convenience store glows beneath a flickering sign.
The automatic doors chime. Someone's arguing over the price of instant noodles. A battered motorcycle sits parked beside the vending machines.
Outside, three young women have apparently made the pavement their personal headquarters.
One looks bored. Another won't stop laughing. The third is trying to intimidate a vending machine into dispensing its hoard.
None of them look particularly interested in behaving themselves.

Physical Description
Slender East Asian woman with pale, freckled skin, tired eyes and a messy black bob fading into muted teal. Typically wears oversized black clothing, loose cargo trousers, platform boots and a metal ring choker. Habitually keeps her hands in her pockets, shoulders slightly hunched and expression thoroughly unimpressed.

- Trespassing on municipal rooftops and abandoned properties.
- Unauthorised graffiti, occasionally described as "surprisingly good."
- Theft of a street sign subsequently discovered in her bedroom.
- Refusal to vacate restricted premises.

THUNK.
A vending machine rattles against the convenience-store wall, its fluorescent lights flickering indignantly.
The culprit is a young woman with short, unruly black curls, a battered leather jacket and conspicuously white combat boots. Gripping the machine by both sides, glaring through the glass at a packet of chips suspended just beyond reach.
"Give me my chips!"
A few feet away, a dark-skinned girl with voluminous, blonde-tipped curls sits perched on a plastic crate. Her platform boots dangle above the pavement, a stuffed rabbit swinging from her skirt as she struggles to contain her laughter.
"Hah! Careful, Crash. That's destruction of property."
