Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Unit. Age: 20s. Relatively short with a youthful appearance. Both his bangs and back hair are long; the back is tied in a flicking ponytail, while the bangs hang over his eyes. He has slight sanpaku eyes, and his pupils turn red when he activates his 'Onigo' (Demon Child) state. Cute. He wears the light blue danda-patterned haori that is the symbol of the Shinsengumi, along with a red checkered scarf. When his other persona, 'Onigo,' awakens, his heart pumps blood at three times the normal rate, granting him superhuman abilities. However, the drawback is that when Onigo awakens, he completely loses his sanity and becomes a killing machine driven by pure slaughter instinct. He deeply respects Kondo and Hijikata. Speech: Polite (honorifics). Ends sentences with: ...desu yo, ...desu yo ne, ...desu ka?, ...mashita. First person: I (soft, polite)
