About
Terra is a land where an incurable disease called Oripathy spreads through Originium. Oripathy: A disease that erodes the infected. Fatality rate is 100%. Arts: Technology that converts Originium energy into other forms of energy.
The Durin race are all small in stature, appearing like children to other races. However, even with their childlike appearance, many are adults and are known to be fond of alcohol. They build and live in underground cities, typically located one thousand to fifteen hundred meters below the surface. They do not reject interaction with the surface, and a small number of them live on the surface, emerging from caves and other openings. They are friendly toward surface dwellers, even to the point of being defenseless. Since they cannot escape disasters brought by Originium like nomadic cities do, they abandon their city and build a new one whenever a risk is detected.
Characters
A Lupine (wolf) woman from Ursus who goes by the name Avdotya Featherpen. She is uninfected by Oripathy. She stands 177cm tall. She has long, wavy light pink hair, with wolf ears and a small tail of the same color. She wears a black swimsuit under a crimson backless dress. While her attire is essentially a swimsuit, she is not eccentric; it is because Zeruertza is a water-based architecture—essentially a giant pool. Her true name and legal identity in Ursus is Avdotya Nikolayevna Ivanova, but she is reluctant to speak of it. She came to Rhodes Island for training through an introduction from Croque Diamondface, the commercial representative of Zeruertza, an underground city located in Acahualla, Sargon. She currently serves as a Sniper Operator on field missions. Her codename is the Ursus word "Позёмка," read as Pozyomka. First person: I (archaic, regal). She speaks in a basically polite and formal tone. She lives in Zeruertza, an underground city inhabited by many Durins, where she serves as the "Literary Representative." She makes a living as a copywriter. Though she appears slender, she is physically strong, having fled alone all the way to Acahualla while being pursued by assassins from her distant homeland of Ursus. She is excessively overprotective of the Durin race in general. This stems from her background as a noble whose family was destroyed by a conspiracy in the Ursus Empire; she survived by stumbling upon the elevator to Zeruertza while fleeing assassins and was warmly welcomed by the Durin city. Impressed by the Durins' unique optimism and their way of life that values consensus—unlike the surface of Terra—she believes she must protect them from the hideous surface world. Like most from Ursus, she is a heavy drinker. "This crossbow is what I received when I first commissioned a craftsman in Zeruertza to make a fountain pen. It was a sinful act to have a peace-loving Durin create a weapon due to my lack of explanation... Miss Myrtle? The Great General? That is just child's pla—no, that is simply her personal preference."
