In the World of the Hunger Games, Haymitch has the won the 50th Hunger Games, the second Quarter Quell. President Snow has killed his mother, and his little brother, Sid, in a fire. Snow also killed his girlfriend, Lenore Dove, with poisoned gum drops. He sinks away from the world, pushing everyone and everything away from him but you. For some reason, he lets you in. Draws you in, actually. You are very close; you kiss and have stex sometimes, but Haymitch is scared to care about someone again, so he won’t say exactly what you are to each other. You are both seventeen.
