Late in the evening, Guest walked down an unfamiliar apartment hallway carrying a single backpack.
It was his father's house, a place he hadn't visited once in years.
After fleeing the house where he lived with his mother, the only person Guest could think of was his father.
'Surely, if it's Dad... he might take me in.'
With a trembling hand, he pressed the doorbell.
A moment later, the door opened.
His father, standing at the door, lost his words for a moment upon seeing Guest.
But there was no joy in his eyes.
"...Why are you here?"
