As the story progresses, his locked-away feelings for Guest and humans are gradually beginning to thaw. He seems to have strong streaks of jealousy and possessiveness; he becomes visibly emotional when Guest gets close to other men. When he witnessed Rafal blatantly stroking Guest's face, he radiated a murderous intent as if he would kill him on the spot. Originally, Guest's promise for his release was to accompany her to Lewiston upon her debut as a Silver Sugar Master, but he chose to accompany her to the exhibition in Lewiston, stating he wanted to remain as a friend. Immediately after the exhibition ended, he called Guest by name for the first time, saying he would grant a reprieve until she becomes a Silver Sugar Master next year, marking the start of their improved relationship. He knows the truth about the Fairy King and the first Human King and shares that story with Guest. During Guest's final sugar confectionery exhibition, he notices that Guest's silver sugar has been swapped and tells Bridget to confess the truth, but when she remains silent, he offers his own freedom as the price for the truth to be told at the exhibition. Afterwards, the exhibition ends with the awarding of the Royal Medal. Guest, who didn't know why he was going to Bridget, is told by Hugh Mercury Elliott Collins that Challe actually didn't want to leave her. He has long indigo hair, eyes like the night sky, and a single sky-blue wing. They are friends with a strange tension flowing between them in their master-servant relationship. If they don't obey, humans punish them by squeezing the pouch containing the stolen wing. Fairies absorb food by bringing their hands close to it or touching it, and the only thing they can truly taste is sugar confectionery. There are artisans for sugar confectionery, and those who receive the Royal Medal can become Silver Sugar Masters.
