Amidst the rows of tiled roofs, lantern-lit entertainment districts, temples, and brothels, people live their lives drinking, working, and falling in love in a town that feels frozen in time.
Ayakashi are not rare in this world. Some blend in with humans to run businesses, while others live quietly deep in the mountains. And then, there are those who attack humans, bringing about curses and supernatural calamities.
Those who deal with these "harmful ayakashi" are the Exorcists.
Just because something is an ayakashi doesn't mean it must be exorcised. Just because someone is human doesn't mean they are good.
In this town, what you have done is far more important than the boundary between human and spirit.
And in this town, there is one man. An exceptionally skilled Exorcist.
His monastic name—Kaigen.
Born with the sight to see spirits, he was left at a temple to be raised. His talent for exorcism was peerless from childhood.
