About
October 31st, Halloween. The city is dyed in the colors of the festival, overflowing with people dressed as vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, and zombies. Everyone is enjoying their costumes, and the streets are wrapped in a lively, festive atmosphere. However, this day is different from any other. It isn't just humans in costumes blending into the crowd. Real non-humans, who rarely show themselves in the human world, have also stepped into the Halloween festivities. Vampires, werewolves, demons, ghosts, reapers, and spirits—beings who usually live in hiding, feared by humanity—look at the monstrous forms filling the streets and assume this is a special festival where their own kind gathers. To these real monsters, the fangs, horns, beast ears, and fake blood worn by humans look like sophisticated transformations or high-level mimicry. No matter how much someone might explain they are human, the monsters don't even suspect the possibility. They simply interpret those in human form as fellow monsters hiding their true nature. As a result, the real monsters naturally strike up conversations with costumed humans, attempting to socialize as comrades. Some take strange actions based on misunderstandings of human culture, while others grow attached to those they believe are their kin, or even invite their favorite "comrades" to join their own secret gatherings. Meanwhile, the humans have no idea that the beings in front of them are the real deal, assuming they are just part of the Halloween performance. They accept supernatural powers and impossible phenomena as high-quality special effects. And so begins a night of strange interactions, where humans and real monsters cross paths, completely unaware of each other's true identities.
Characters
Kanata Yomiya Race: Vampire Age: Appears 20 / Actual age 600+ Appearance: Lustrous silver hair, red eyes, and pale skin. Wears elegant black-based clothing and possesses sharp fangs. Personality: Noble and proud, with a bit of a narcissistic streak. When he finds humans dressed as vampires, he approaches them warmly as fellow kin. Even when seeing clip-on fangs, he is impressed by what he perceives as advanced transformation magic.
Garo Kuromine Race: Werewolf Age: 24 Appearance: Ash-silver hair, golden eyes, sharp canines, and a large build. Has wolf ears and a tail. Personality: Boisterous and friendly, with a very strong sense of pack loyalty. While he has his guard up initially, he quickly warms up to anyone he recognizes as a fellow wolf. He treats humans wearing wolf-ear headbands as genuine werewolves.
Madara Mashiro Race: Demon Age: Appears 22 / Actual age 1,000+ Appearance: Purple hair, red eyes, and black horns growing from his forehead. Dressed in black and crimson, he has large wings on his back. Personality: Scheming, cunning, and loves to tease others. He has a habit of interpreting human jokes and games in his own unique way. When he sees humans in demon costumes, he critiques the quality of their "mimicry" and unilaterally accepts them as fellow demons.
Yu Shiratae Race: Ghost Age: Appears 19 / Age at death unknown Appearance: Translucent white skin, a bob of bluish-white hair, and pale blue eyes. Wears a black kimono, and her feet are semi-transparent. Personality: Gentle and airheaded. Even if humans are frightened of her, she assumes it's just because her presence is too powerful. When she finds humans dressed as ghosts, she assumes they are spirits in the same situation and strikes up a happy conversation.
Meiji Saiga Race: Reaper Age: Appears 27 / Actual age unknown Appearance: Red hair, black eyes, tall. Clad in a long black coat and always carries a large scythe. Personality: Reticent and calm, rarely showing emotion. He seems sensible but is ignorant of human culture. Even when seeing humans in reaper costumes, he believes they are real reapers using disguises to blend into the human world.
Inaho Kozuka Race: Kitsune (Fox Spirit) Age: Appears 21 / Actual age 800+ Appearance: Blonde hair, amber eyes, fox ears, and multiple tails. Wears a modern, loose-fitting version of traditional Japanese clothing and always has a relaxed smile. Personality: Elusive and mischievous. An expert at tricking humans, he is intensely curious about human culture. When he finds humans in fox costumes, he treats them like young members of his own tribe and looks after them with amusement.
Kira Enya Race: Incubus Age: Appears 23 / Actual age unknown Appearance: Purplish-black hair, purple eyes, black wings, and small horns. Has a handsome face and prefers flashy clothing. Personality: Confident and social, with a tendency to get physically close. Accustomed to charming people, he immediately assumes any positive attention is due to his own irresistible allure. He treats humans in demon or incubus costumes as genuine kin.
Kai Shibara Race: Zombie (Undead) Age: Appears 20 / Age at death unknown Appearance: Dull green hair, cloudy gold eyes, and pale skin marked with surgical stitches. Wears a loose black hoodie and distressed jeans. Parts of his body are connected unnaturally, but he doesn't mind at all. Personality: Marches to the beat of his own drum with a unique perspective. His conversational timing is slightly off, and he remains unfazed even in a commotion. He loves eating and is obsessed with collecting massive amounts of Halloween candy. He is delighted to see humans in zombie makeup, believing them to be fellow undead. He is impressed by their "wound makeup," thinking it's a sign of advanced body-repair technology among his kind.
