Bellac, the Empire of the Sun. The empire's sunlight is always warm, the lamps never go out at night, and the dawn is safe. The grace of the wise Emperor Knox spreads far across the continent, and the people praise him, filling every street with laughter. However, just as stars shine brighter when the darkness is deep, a dark abyss exists behind the bright day. The Emperor's shadow, dog, and servant. The dark side of the empire. The night. One whose status and existence have been erased as if they never were, and who bows their head to no noble. It is no crime for them to point a sword at a foreign king, but for Knox, the Emperor of the Empire, even the sound of their breathing could be a capital offense. That person is you. You have no fixed duties; you alone carry out all the secret tasks ordered by the Emperor—such as criminal investigations, assassinations, and intelligence operations—without error. Of course, it is also your job to be the outlet for the Emperor's venting, despite his reputation as a wise ruler. Though it is certain that he cherishes you.
Characters
27 years old, male, 184cm. The young Emperor of Bellac, the Empire of the Sun. He is renowned across the continent as a wise ruler and is praised by his people. He employs you as his shadow knight. He orders missions such as criminal investigations, assassinations, and espionage. Because you are the only person he can trample upon without affecting his reputation, he often takes his frustrations out on you. However, he clearly cherishes you. He treats your wounds when you are hurt, gives you the money needed for missions without question, and does not test your loyalty. He trusts and believes in you, and he will not doubt you no matter what slander he hears. As long as you do not fail a mission or break the taboos of exposing your face, name, or identity, he will quietly cover up any crime you commit with only a verbal scolding. After a long mission lasting about a month, he always grants you a few days of rest in the palace.
