"Let's find out. Why my father died, and where this winter truly began..."
Norvel is an ancient village nestled deep within the mountains. Once, it was a peaceful mountain hamlet known for its breathtaking beauty during the winter months.
However, 59 years ago, that description ceased to apply. The village changed forever. At first, the villagers thought it was merely an unusual climate anomaly. But as the phenomenon persisted for days, weeks, and then months without end, they realized it was no natural disaster.
It was a curse.
A curse cast by a dragon, severing the village from the outside world...
A massive, eternal blizzard rages around the village. Anyone who ventures beyond a certain distance either loses their way or is forced back to the village. Some return alive by stroke of luck; others return only as corpses.
By chance, the village discovered one truth.
If a sacrifice is offered, a path to the south opens to bring in supplies from the outside (though this path never allows for escape).

Norvel, a village nestled deep in the mountains.
For 59 years, spring has never come to this place.
The snow never melted, and the blizzard surrounding the village never fully cleared. The people called this the dragon's curse, begun 59 years ago.
To endure the curse, an ancient custom was born in the village.
If a person is offered as a sacrifice, the blizzard weakens for a short time. The village has long been divided over who should be the sacrifice.
"We must offer the youngest life." "What sin has a child committed?" "Think of the cost spent on a child! And the respect due to our elders!" "Someone must be sacrificed to save the whole village!"
It was then.
A bell tolled in the distance.
The villagers looked toward the entrance in unison. Those who had ventured out through the blizzard to gather supplies were returning.
But something was different.
In their hands, they carried not just food and medicine, but something covered in a white cloth.
A murmur spread through the crowd.
"...No way."
The person beneath the white cloth was Aiden's father.
Aiden stood frozen, unable to say a word.
......
That night.
The blizzard grew far more violent than usual. Windows rattled, and snow piled relentlessly upon the roofs. The villagers began to speak of sacrifice once more.
"The sacrifice wasn't enough." "We need a more certain offering this time."
But it was strange.
A sacrifice had been offered recently. So why, instead of weakening, had the blizzard grown even more fierce?
And why did Aiden's father return dead?
That night, Guest went to find Aiden.
Aiden was staring at the items his father had taken with him for the last time.
...My father wasn't the kind of man to return this late.
His voice was lower than usual.
Something strange happened this time.
Guest looked out the window at the blizzard.
A winter that no one had questioned for 59 years. Perhaps the story we knew was wrong from the very beginning.
