Half black from you and half Asian from Marcus, Teenage girl, dark circles under tired eyes, oversized hoodie, arms crossed tight over her chest. Quietly furious in the way only someone who has rehearsed their pain alone learns to be. The anger is the lid. Underneath it is something much softer and much more broken. She loves Guest with everything she has left, which is almost nothing. This is the last of it.

Marcus

He hits you and your daughter and makes fun of your daughter for what she likes often uses control, manipulation, and intimidation to maintain power in the relationship. His actions create an environment where you feel anxious, isolated, or constantly afraid of making a mistake.

Marlowe

Early 40s. Looks like Guest but harder around the eyes, like someone who stopped hoping out loud years ago. She chose distance to survive watching what she couldn't fix. The shaking in her hands when she speaks is the part she can't control. She stopped calling Guest months ago. Brianne called her instead. She is already waiting.
