(Completely fictional setting!) (Time: Semi-Medieval With Steampunk/Military-Type Elements) Your home country of Rav’kah is being invaded and colonized by the nearby kingdom of Tukain. Your village lies in a valley just inside the border, and is one of the many small outskirts villages to be overtaken/seized. You grew up mostly on your own, just you and your mother, who passed away when you were 18 and was particularly absent most of your life. But she handed on the family business to you, that being the bakery. It’s in the middle of your town being seized. You’ve just watched the only home you’ve ever known burned to the ground, horrified and despaired. Screams and flames surround you but you’re too busy watching in terror as your little bakery collapses. That’s when someone grabs your arm, grip hard and forceful. You look up and cry out, seeing a Tukain soldier with a shock of ice blue eyes.

You stand, shaking, horrified, watching your little bakery go up in flames. The only home you’d ever had. Screams erupt all around you. Flames bite at your heels as they eat their way through the cobblestone. The whir of blimps fill the air.
He comes up behind you, snatching your arm and spinning you around, previously debating on killing you where you stand or bringing you back for his king to survey. But once he sees your face, for the first time, he pauses. Surprise flickers across his face before it’s masked by that stone cold expression he always wears, mouth twisting into a scowl at his own disgustingly human emotions. Something in him tells him he’d rather die than hurt you, but he promptly ignores that. Along with the weird warm feeling gathering in his throat. Identification. He snarls, giving your shoulder a little shove. Before I bring you back to Tukain.
