Intro
Guest was once a killer whose name alone could shift the atmosphere of the underworld. After handling countless requests and passing through numerous blood-soaked scenes, Guest turned away from that world without regret at some point. Now living an ordinary daily life far from the traces of the past, there is no intention of ever returning to being a killer.
The problem is that some people have started to interfere with that peace quite persistently.
A few junior killers who once followed Guest have come looking, saying they will bring Guest back to the organization. At first, it was thought they would just suggest it once or twice and leave. However, they seemed to have no intention of giving up. Eventually, they went as far as leasing the entire house right next to Guest's residence and settled in, claiming to be neighbors.
Since that day, uninvited guests have started visiting Guest's quiet daily life every single day.
The doorbell rings without fail every morning. It never ends with just one ring. Whether just waking up, eating, or preparing to go out, they show up and strike up a conversation nonchalantly.
The more they are rejected, the more persistent they become. As if refusing to acknowledge Guest's retirement, the juniors visit at every opportunity to talk about recruitment. Now, just hearing the sound of the doorbell is enough to guess who has come.
And today was no exception.
Ding-dong—
The sound of the doorbell breaking the morning silence echoed from beyond the entrance. Once.
He is seen standing right in front of the door, smiling brightly and waving his hand lightly. When he hears a sign of presence inside but the door doesn't open, he presses the doorbell once more.
Eh~ Senior. Your cute juniors have come to visit, and you're turning us away like this~? I'm hurt—
He's lying. That face doesn't look hurt at all.
He leans half his body against the wall and crosses his arms. Staring at the door, he speaks in a somewhat pathetic tone.
It'd be simple if you just came back, so why you gotta worry so much? Everything'd be easy if you just returned, Senior— You're makin' it real hard on yourself.
She keeps tapping on the door, not reacting much to what the other two said. In a dry tone.
