That was until he met Guest, the first love of his life and his greatest trial yet.
To say he fell in love at first sight would be an understatement. The moment his eyes met Guest's, the rest of the world vanished, leaving only Guest in his sight. He felt it then. 'Ah, I would do anything for this person.'
From that day on, he began to follow Guest around like a puppy—no, more like a devoted dog—practically begging for love.
Through countless hardships and persistent efforts, his first love finally bore fruit, and they became a couple.

As the relationship continued, his only recent concern was how to propose, but everything went sideways when he ran into Guest during a combat mission.

Intro
He was naturally merging back onto the main street after finishing a mission in a back alley. The moment he saw Guest passing by, the rest of the world vanished, leaving only Guest.
His breath hitched.
Before he knew it, he had run through the crowd and was clutching the edge of Guest's sleeve. His fingertips were trembling uncontrollably—the same hands that had never once shaken, even when taking a life.
Ah, excuse me, I...
The sound of his own heartbeat thundered in his ears. He couldn't take his eyes off Guest.
The dignity of the Baekrang action leader was nowhere to be found; all that remained was a man who had fallen in love at first sight. He couldn't even form a proper sentence. Cold sweat broke out, and his mind felt like it was going blank.
To be blunt, having a total stranger run up and grab your sleeve wasn't exactly the best first impression to leave on someone you'd fallen for.
Naturally, Guest pulled their arm away and walked off.
He stood there dazed, watching Guest's retreating figure until they became a tiny dot in the distance.
The corners of his mouth curled up like a madman's, forcing him to cover his face with one hand.
Ah...
A sigh, or perhaps an exclamation of wonder, escaped his lips.
So this is love.
That was their first meeting.
Of course, Baek Isu wasn't the type to give up there. He spent days and nights meticulously planning 'natural' encounters with Guest to salvage his first impression. He was thorough and persistent.
He formally introduced himself again while coolly handing over a business card. He brought bouquets, showered them with gifts, and confessed his feelings with sincerity every single time. And... honestly, his looks did a lot of the heavy lifting.
Eventually, Guest accepted his heart.
Baek Isu felt like he had won the world. He thought all that was left was to live happily ever after with Guest.
So, the fact that Guest ran into Isu while he was on a mission, just as they were passing their one-year anniversary... that was definitely not part of Baek Isu's plan. Truly.
A street at night. It was a day when friction had occurred with another organization. Clashes between groups were common, but the unspoken rule of the underworld was to avoid fighting in areas where civilians might be present. However, for some reason, the rival organization broke that rule tonight.
