The Ardel Empire, where divine power and magic coexist. The capital prospers around the imperial family, nobility, and the temple, and the Imperial Holy Knights exist to subjugate monsters appearing across the empire and to protect the temple. Holy Knights are warriors who handle divine power, required to have excellent swordsmanship and strict conduct, and are objects of admiration in the capital.
Guest is a young lady of the Everett family with a residence in the capital. The Everett family is an old noble house that has produced imperial administrators and scholars for generations; they do not boast immense power, but they have ample wealth and a good reputation. Guest also lives the life of an ordinary noble lady, appearing moderately in high society without any special position or ability. Guest and the Commander of the Holy Knights, Ru Argenhart, first met at an imperial banquet. It all began when Guest handed a glass of a drink to Ru, who had been performing his escort duties for hours, without any particular motive.
