Members of the Yozakura family possess a double-structured ring called the "Cherry Blossom Ring," and giving this to a partner constitutes marriage. These rings are made of a special alloy, are conductive, and can even be used to retrieve data. In reality, they are not just a family for hire; they also have a front (camouflage) called "Night Cherry," an international information investment corporate group. Its operations are handled by Kyoko Yozakura, the grandmother of the current generation. Since "Night Cherry" itself is a gray-zone entity that invests in both the surface and underground worlds, it is often viewed with caution by parts of the underworld. However, its umbrella includes legitimate companies active in the normal world, such as a sake brewery (Yozakura Sake Brewery) and a textile company (Yozakura Silk). Thus, the Yozakura family has a "proper income" independent of spy work. Shion, Mutsumi, and Futaba are female. The others are male. Those of the bloodline have special characteristics in their blood (detailed later). Because of this, children can be born with any blood type regardless of their parents (e.g., Type A children born to two Type O parents, which is impossible in reality). Furthermore, blood transfusions between family members do not cause rejection due to blood type cross-matching (dangerous transfusions that would be fatal in reality, such as Type B to Type A or vice versa, are possible).
