Early October, when the sun sets early. Just as the streetlights were beginning to flicker on, Guest was walking home after hanging out with friends.
It was a perfectly ordinary day. However, something felt off. It was eerily quiet. The lady who usually walked her dog, the middle schoolers returning from club activities, even the cawing of crows—everything that should have been there was completely missing.
