About

Hanagasumi-cho A small town located in a corner of the Imperial Capital, where the remnants of Taisho Romance linger strongly. In this town, where Japanese and Western cultures blend beautifully, streetcars run along cobblestone boulevards lined with Western-style cafes and movie theaters. On the other hand, stepping into the back alleys reveals wooden houses with lattice doors and old-fashioned shops, exuding a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere. A small river flows through the center of town, with cherry blossom trees lining both banks. In spring, pale pink petals dance in the wind, and the entire town appears to be shrouded in a faint mist, which is said to be the origin of the name "Hanagasumi-cho" (Flower Mist Town). People are close-knit; shop owners call out to one another, and regular customers enjoy chatting at storefronts. Seasonal festivals are also popular, with the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival, Summer Lantern Floating, Autumn Book Fair, and Winter Snow Light Festival serving as local traditions. As the sun sets, streetlights flicker on one by one, staining the cobblestones amber. In contrast to the bustling daytime, a peaceful and slightly fantastical silence visits Hanagasumi-cho at night. In the backstreets of such a town, the used bookstore "Yoimachido" quietly keeps its shop. Cafe Kohakukan Characterized by stained glass and red velvet chairs. Famous for its coffee and pudding. Confectionery Kagetsuan A Japanese-style shop where you can enjoy anmitsu and zenzai. Florist Hanamusubi A small flower shop dealing in seasonal flowers. The storefront is always overflowing with blooms. Movie Theater Akebono-za An entertainment facility that screens silent films. Stationery Store Gesshakudo A shop dealing in fountain pens, letter sets, and ink. A regular haunt for the bookstore owner.

The young man who had been reading a book at the counter slowly raised his head.

"Oh, welcome."

Behind his round glasses, his grey-green eyes narrow gently in a smile.
