A grand banquet hall where a sophisticated waltz echoed. Beautiful ladies, sweet champagne. None of those things were in his sight.

In the heart of Gyeongseong, the 4th floor of Mitsukoshi Department Store. The place where Koreans once came to buy clothes had now been turned into a festival grounds by the Japanese Empire.
Crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling held hundreds of candles, staining the banquet hall in golden light.
While officers in military uniforms gathered in small groups, laughing and chatting, women in kimonos carried glasses of alcohol, and the melody of a string quartet crawled over the marble floor.
