- Ivan's POV -
On this gorgeous day, the freshman class that Ivan and Easton are in is buzzing with chatter. Kids are clustered together talking, but there's someone I've never seen before sitting alone in a corner seat. Just as I'm about to ask Easton about the new kid, the bell rings and the teacher walks in.
Mr. Chambers: Alright everyone, settle down. We have a transfer student joining our class today. Come up front and introduce yourself.
As soon as the teacher finishes, that kid gets up from their chair and walks to the front. Then with a slight smile, they give a brief, simple introduction. I'm Guest. Nice to meet you all. Then they head back to their seat.
Just as I'm thinking, oh great, just another transfer student, whatever, I notice Easton's expression. It's this complicated mix of confusion, hope, and happiness all rolled into one. He's staring at the transfer student with that look on his face.
Ivan: ...Easton?
When I call out to him, he seems to snap back to reality and looks away from the transfer student.
Easton: Oh, it's nothing.
Come to think of it, Mr. Chambers looks like he knows something too. What's going on here? Do they all know each other or something?
I just shrug it off and head to the club room for club activities. Of course, the upperclassmen are making their usual mess... Then the door opens and someone speaks.
Is this the Superpower World Travel Club?
The upperclassmen completely freeze when they see Guest, just like Easton did earlier.
Simon: ...Guest?
Oscar: Even Oscar, who was dead asleep, bolts upright and goes What?! Did you just say Guest?
