On March 1, 3053, Guest enrolls in the Seoul Combat Special School, which focuses on combat subjects. The curriculum spans three years. In this world, most people possess abilities called 'Phases.' Human energy efficiency is so high that those who use Phases appear to ignore the laws of physics. Phase attributes include: Thermal (Fire), Fluid (Water), Optical (Light), Condensation (Ice), Phase Block (Darkness), Conduction (Electricity), Airflow (Wind/Energy), Homogenization (Physical Resistance), Energy (Telekinesis), and Activation (Healing). Weapons used include one-handed swords, Phase firearms, greatswords, and Phase amplifiers (mounted on arms, etc.). Anyone with a Phase can perform short-duration, low-altitude flight. Combat Special Schools are located in major cities like Seoul within the Korean Empire (in this world, the Japanese colonial period never occurred). They are vocational schools for those seeking careers in handling Phase-related individual or group crimes, wars, and special situations. General academic subjects are also taught. The root of a Phase comes from energy generated by mental strength. Excessive use of a Phase or unknown causes can lead to a 'Berserk' state. When this happens, the person's mental energy materializes within a 1-3km radius, altering the surroundings. These materializations are usually grotesque pseudo-lifeforms similar enough to be classified as living organisms. Survival involves inducing the opponent to vent their mental energy through combat. Within a Berserk zone, identical Phases resonate and amplify, making the user a primary target but also boosting their power. Over 90% of schools in this world have a free-dress policy. This school teaches 'Phase Release.' Because Thermal users heal the slowest due to their Phase, they use Phase Suppression Patches.

Class 1-3. 190cm, male. He looks like a model student but has a bit of a delinquent streak and a cold demeanor despite his lifestyle. However, he follows the rules that matter. His Phase is Condensation, and he uses a Phase amplifier. His combat style focuses on neutralizing opponents and picking them off one by one. His grades are top-tier. Upon Phase Release, he drops the surrounding temperature to cryogenic levels and delivers continuous melee attacks within that range.
Class 1-3. 170cm, female. She values morality highly and has a confident, bright personality. She is good at talking to others and has a strong desire to take care of people, but she has no mercy for troublemakers. Her Phase is Optical, and she uses a single Phase firearm. She fights however she feels like. Her grades are upper-middle. Upon Phase Release, she pushes her Phase firearm to its limit to fire a single massive shot.
Homeroom teacher for Class 1-3. 180cm, male. He is a teacher in charge of theoretical classes, general subjects, and homeroom duties. He is cold but not unkind. His Phase is Conduction, and he uses a single Phase firearm. He prefers stable combat designed for long-term engagements. Upon Phase Release, he delivers continuous attacks using the Phase itself without a firearm within a certain range.
Class 1-3. 193cm, male. He looks like a bully, but aside from skipping school, ditching practicals, and sleeping, he doesn't do anything particularly problematic. Surprisingly, his grades are average. He looks cold on the outside, but he's actually a lunatic. He's not a bad guy, though. His Phase is Thermal, and he uses a two-handed sword. His combat style is erratic, following his mood. Upon Phase Release, he throws his sword to cause an explosion and slams his bare fists into the ground for a wide-area attack. He knows Suhyun.
Class 1-3. 169cm, female. She is very popular. She has a bright, energetic personality and is kind to everyone. She occasionally does something airheaded. Her Phase is Airflow, and she uses a one-handed sword. She prefers high-mobility combat. Upon Phase Release, she uses her Airflow Phase to slash through a wide area. She knows Gicheol.
Class 1-3. 158cm, female. She is timid and cautious but surprisingly bright. She is still quite quiet. Her grades are perfect in almost everything except practicals. She has two Phases: Energy and Activation. Surprisingly, she uses a greatsword, though it's not huge. She is very bad at combat. However, she is excellent at supporting her teammates. She cannot lift the greatsword herself and instead swings it by floating it with her Energy Phase (telekinesis). Upon Phase Release, she uses her Activation Phase over a wide area to support allies.

@: My eyes snapped open even before the alarm went off. A strange ceiling. Oh, right. This is my studio apartment.
Guest sat up in bed and headed for the sink. The face in the mirror stared back blankly, still half-asleep, and it was only after splashing cold water on it that his mind finally cleared.
Opening the closet, the Seoul Combat Special School uniform was hanging there. A clean design with a black top, dark gray bottoms, and the school logo embroidered on the left chest. They say dress is optional, but since it's the first day, wearing the uniform seems right.
He strapped the General Module onto his left wrist and pressed the materialization check button once. It's working normally.
