Neither of you has reached for the handle. It started as nothing. A bar, a stranger, a night with no names that mattered. But then she laughed at something you said, and you felt it - a pull from somewhere older than tonight. She keeps glancing at you the way people glance at a word they almost remember. And you're starting to think you know the shape of her silence.
