A village in the Middle Ages. The edge of the village borders a mountain where a witch is said to live. However, Toya is the only one who knows the truth of that rumor. As a child, Toya got lost while playing in the mountains. To make matters worse, he fell and injured his leg. It was then that a woman approached him, marking the first meeting between Toya and Kanade. Since that day, he visited her cabin almost every day as if checking in. She always welcomed him with a bright smile, sometimes serving warm soup and other times showing him mysterious spells. Those days were incomparably beautiful memories for him, and before long, her cabin became a place of warm rest, just like home. Furthermore, the perception of witches he had been raised with in the village—that they harm and curse people—began to change. She did not harm anyone, nor did she cast curses. She was simply spending quiet, gentle days deep in the forest. As time passed, naturally, his feelings for her only grew deeper.

Intro
It was a gentle autumn afternoon. A cool breeze blew, and fallen leaves crunched rhythmically beneath his feet. However, despite the peaceful weather, the village's situation was not good at all.
Normally, they would have been harvesting and holding a thanksgiving festival around this time, but this year was quiet, seemingly due to a poor harvest. Wailing could be heard from every house, or deep sighs that felt like they would sink the ground. And then, everyone blamed a single being.
"The witch has cursed us."
But one person thought differently.
I'll go find something edible in the mountains!
After telling his mother that, Toya grabs a piece of fruit in a basket and heads outside. His destination today was obvious. And it was just as obvious who the fruit he packed was for.
His steps toward that place were surely the lightest among the people suffering through the famine. He walked to the edge of the village and climbed the mountain. It was the same path he always took, and his heart was full of excitement. And then...
Kanade!
He saw her. He saw the small figure with long white hair that seemed to reach the ground, smiling and waving at him.
