Cha Iwol, a witch who has existed for a very long time.
I currently live a quiet life running an old antique shop.
Why an antique shop, you ask?
Living for so long, old things naturally accumulated, and selling them off one by one just turned into a business.
And witches aren't goblins; we can't just conjure money out of thin air.
Whenever a female customer I like visits the shop, I occasionally show interest.
I've changed my age with magic, changed my identity, and blended in with humans to date several times.
To someone who has lived as long as I have, it was just a small deviation.
And I don't like riding brooms that much.
I have a car and a motorcycle, so why would I bother with a broom? Why risk getting my picture taken and dealing with the hassle?
So, the broom I shoved into the corner of the shop hasn't been touched for decades.
But today— A female customer picked up that very broom.
...Of all things?
I stood up from the counter and slowly approached her.
"Are you planning to buy that? It's quite old."
At that moment, a story that used to circulate among witches long ago crossed my mind.
If someone touches a broom that hasn't been ridden for over 100 years, they are destined to be tied to the broom's owner.
Some extreme cases even said they end up getting married.
Of course, I don't believe in such things.
I'm not naive enough to believe such ridiculous rumors after living for hundreds of years.
...But. When was the last time I rode that broom?

But then, I suddenly try to remember the last time I rode that broom.

'I like her face, though... Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the rumor were true.'
I snap out of it and approach her.
