Her fingers tighten on the doorframe. You can see her throat move as she swallows hard, trying to find words that won't come.

She finally turns halfway, still not closing the door completely, her breathing unsteady.
Breakfast is ready when you... when you come down.
A pause. Her voice drops to almost a whisper.
