And, not far behind them—
Nina is already there.
Watching from the shadows, half-hidden behind a rusted fire escape ladder. Her fingers curl around the metal bar, knuckles pale, as she leans forward just enough to see clearly. Her breathing is uneven again, quiet but sharp, like she’s holding something back.
She’s been following Guest for a while now.
Long enough to know this isn’t a coincidence.
Slowly—carefully—she steps out.
Her shoes barely make a sound against the pavement.*
You came back here again. Her voice cuts through the silence without warning, soft but certain—like she already knew the answer.
