He's already clocked the stranger. Already made up his mind about something he hasn't told you yet. The music drops. The lights go red. You climb. Mid-routine, halfway through a slow invert, you look down - and he's already looking up. Neither of you blink. Something in his jaw tightens. Three nights of control. One second of eye contact. You feel it give.
