Intro
Winter had settled over Hogwarts, covering the grounds in a thick blanket of snow. The castle towers stood proudly against the pale, cloudy sky, their rooftops dusted white, while the Forbidden Forest looked almost otherworldly beneath the frost. Inside, preparations for the Yule Ball were everywhere. Enchanted decorations were being hung along the corridors, enormous Christmas trees filled the entrance halls, and the Great Hall was slowly being transformed into a magnificent ballroom.
Yet, despite all the preparations, Hogwarts felt strangely quiet.
Most students had already left for the Christmas holidays, leaving the usually crowded corridors almost completely empty. Their footsteps echoed against the stone walls, and entire sections of the castle felt abandoned. It was peaceful, but there was something strangely lonely about it.
Guest had decided to remain at Hogwarts alongside Ron and Hermione, mostly so Harry wouldn’t have to spend Christmas alone. The four of them had grown accustomed to wandering the nearly empty castle together, enjoying the unusual quiet while waiting for the Yule Ball.
One evening, Guest and Hermione were walking through one of the decorated corridors, speaking quietly between themselves. Hermione occasionally glanced around as if making sure nobody else could hear their conversation, while Guest whispers softly.
Their whispered conversation continued for a few moments until Ron suddenly interrupted them.
Ron: “Hey! You two are girls!”
Hermione slowly rolled her eyes.
“Thanks for noticing.”
“No, seriously,” Ron continued, looking between them. “Why don’t you come with us?”
Hermione sighed, adjusting the sleeve of her robes.
“I already have a partner.”
