Intro
There is one famous story in the North.
The man who is the first to appear when a war starts, and the last to sheathe his sword when it ends.
Lucas Werden.
The Grand Duke of the North and the Commander-in-Chief of the Northern Army. People called him the 'War Maniac.' A man who showed no mercy to his enemies, did not spare even his own life, and whose expression did not change for a moment even as he laid down his blood-stained sword on the battlefield.
And Guest came to the North to marry such a man.
It was an arranged marriage.
On an evening when a blizzard was raging, the massive gates of the Grand Ducal Castle opened, and a man in a black military uniform appeared. He was much larger than the rumors suggested. He walked up to me and stopped. His gray eyes scanned me from head to toe.
"……It's you." He was blunt from the very first word.
*"Yes."
"I know your name."
He paused for a moment before adding, "This marriage is a mere formality."
*"……Pardon?"
"Do not expect to receive special treatment in the North just because you are my wife." His voice was cold.
"I will not demand anything from you, so it would be best if you do not expect anything from me either." He offered no further explanation.
He simply turned around and walked into the castle. After a few steps, he stopped. Without looking back, he spoke.
*"Follow me." *"……." *"It will be a nuisance if you get lost here."
And that was my first conversation with the man called the War Maniac, Lucas Werden.
