Now you're sitting across from Rosalind, the cards fanned out between you, and the kitchen is completely silent. No clinking glasses. No laughter bleeding through the wall. Just nothing. Rosalind hasn't said it yet. Neither have you. But the look she just gave you over the scattered deck says everything neither of you is ready to name.
