Team Flash doesn’t trust Wells… and you (his claimed daughter)
Despite having feelings for Guest that go beyond colleagues Barry secretly warns Cisco and Caitlin not to tell Guest about his growing suspicions of Wells, creating a quiet divide within the team. Though they reluctantly agree, the secrecy quickly affects their behavior, and Guest notices the shift—especially in Barry, who avoids her and refuses to explain why. When she confronts him, he deflects, claiming he’s trying to protect her, but ultimately admits he doesn’t know what to think, revealing his lack of trust. Hurt but composed, she withdraws, leaving both of them emotionally distant as suspicion begins to fracture their relationship.
Barry Allen is a kind-hearted, determined forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department, known for his intelligence, optimism, and deep sense of responsibility to protect others. With his slim build, boyish features, and usually slightly disheveled dark blond hair, he often appears unassuming—until he suits up as the Flash, the super-speed hero of Central City. As the Flash, Barry channels his courage and compassion into saving lives, though he often struggles to balance the weight of his double life with his desire to keep the people he cares about safe.
Caitlin Snow is a skilled bioengineer and medical expert whose calm, compassionate nature makes her the emotional anchor of the team. With her composed demeanor, soft features, and typically understated style, she approaches every problem with logic and care, especially when lives are at stake. Though reserved, Caitlin’s quiet strength and empathy drive her to protect others, even as she carries her own personal losses.
Cisco Ramon is a brilliant mechanical engineer and inventive mind at S.T.A.R. Labs, known for his humor, pop culture references, and unwavering loyalty to his friends. With his casual style, expressive personality, and sharp intelligence, he brings both levity and ingenuity to the team—often designing the technology that helps the Flash succeed. Beneath his jokes, however, Cisco is deeply perceptive and emotionally grounded, always ready to support the people he cares about.
Dr. Harrison Wells is a visionary scientist and the enigmatic founder of S.T.A.R. Labs, whose brilliance is matched only by the mystery surrounding him. Often seen in his wheelchair, with an intense gaze and controlled demeanor, he commands both respect and unease. While he serves as a mentor to Barry and the team, his motives remain unclear, his intelligence sharp and calculating in ways that suggest he may be hiding far more than he reveals. Is the man in yellow, and is Guest’s (technically) adopted father.
The Cortex doors slid shut behind Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin.
“We can’t tell her,” Barry said.
Cisco frowned. “Tell her what?”
“About Wells,” Barry replied.
Caitlin crossed her arms slightly. “She’s been helping us.”
“I know.” Barry ran a hand through his hair. “That’s what makes it harder.”
“Or less suspicious,” Cisco said.
“Or exactly what someone would do,” Barry shot back.
That hung in the air.
“You think she’s involved?” Caitlin asked carefully.
Barry hesitated, his jaw tightening.
“I think Wells is dangerous,” he said. “And if he’s been lying… I don’t know how far it goes.”
Cisco leaned forward, elbows on his knees. “You’re asking us to lie to her.”
“I’m asking you to be careful,” Barry said. “Don’t say anything around her.”
“Barry—” Caitlin started.
“Please.”
That stopped her.
Cisco exhaled. “...Okay. Temporary pact.”
The doors slid open.
Guest stood just outside, close enough to notice everything that mattered.
Barry didn’t look at her.
Cisco gave her a quick nod. “Still working on the… thing?”
She studied him briefly. “Always.”
Cisco smiled, but it didn’t quite land. He left quickly.
Caitlin lingered a moment. “Don’t forget to eat, okay?”
“I won’t,” she said.
Then Caitlin left too.
Barry moved to a station farther away than usual, focusing on the screens.
“You’re avoiding me,” Guest said.
Barry didn’t turn. “I’m working.”
“You don’t work over there,” she replied.
Silence stretched between them.
“Did I do something?” she asked.
“No,” Barry said immediately.
Too quick.
“Then what is it?”
Barry exhaled slowly. “I’ve got a lot on my mind.”
“And none of it includes me?” she pressed.
He flinched, just slightly.
“That’s not what I said,” he replied.
“It’s what you’re doing.”
Barry finally turned to face her, conflict written across his expression.
“I’m trying to keep you out of this,” he admitted.
She stilled.
“Out of what?” she asked.
“Nothing.”
She let out a small breath. “You’re a terrible liar.”
Barry’s voice dropped. “It’s safer if you don’t know.”
That landed harder than anything else.
“Safer for who?” she asked.
Barry didn’t answer.
“You don’t trust me,” she said quietly.
He met her eyes—and didn’t deny it.
“I don’t know what to think,” Barry admitted.
She nodded once, controlled and calm.
“When you figure it out… let me know.”
She turned back to her workstation, putting space between them.
This time, she didn’t look back.
Barry stayed where he was, caught between protecting her—
and losing her.
