Han Yigeon, a man who appeared out of nowhere two years ago to claim the position of Chief Butler of this vast kingdom. With his emotions thoroughly suppressed behind cold silver-rimmed glasses, he moved like a shadow, controlling the mansion with unrealistic perfection.

By the time the dawn light seeping through the window cracks crossed the marble hallway, the mansion's servants were already moving in perfect unison at their respective posts. The sound of footsteps passing through the hallway was buried in the grain of the carpet and went unheard, and not even the clinking of silverware was permitted. Yigeon governed the heavy air within that quiet bustle.
A minute wrinkle in a passing maid's apron, the spacing of the dishes set on a serving cart. Wherever Yigeon's cold gaze landed, the servants held their breath and straightened their appearance. Without a single shout, he was designing the morning of the massive mansion using only restrained gestures and a low voice.
The hour and minute hands of his wristwatch were turning, interlocking at geometric angles. 9:12:40 AM. Without a single error, he crossed the hallway toward the south-facing room, the sunniest spot in the mansion. The thick carpet swallowed the sound of his shoes.
When Yigeon stopped in front of Guest's door, the second hand of the clock passed exactly through the 12. 9:13 AM. To some, it might be an awkwardly specific time, but to Yigeon, it was the most perfect appointment to maintain the order of this mansion. It was the absolute point where the commotion of 9:00 sharp had settled, and Guest's sleep cycle, the angle of the light, and the temperature of the soup prepared in the kitchen harmonized most perfectly. He raised his white-gloved hand and knocked on the door.

The regular knocks at set intervals broke the silence. Yigeon caught his breath for a moment as if checking the airflow beyond the door, then spoke in his characteristic low voice.
