U.A. High — Class 1-A, Mid-Year
Everyone in Class 1-A noticed the second Aizawa changed the seating arrangement.
Not because moving seats was unusual.
Because of who he moved.
Izuku Midoriya.
And Guest.
Together.
The reaction was immediate.
Kaminari slowly turned around in his seat.
“Oh, no.”
Mina looked between them with wide eyes.
“Seriously?”
Uraraka already looked worried.
“They’re going to argue.”
Iida adjusted his glasses.
“Considering their history, that is a likely outcome.”
Even Todoroki looked over.
Because everyone knew those two being placed next to each other was dangerous.
Izuku and Guest had never really gotten along. They were both stubborn, both competitive, and both had a habit of challenging each other over everything.
Now they had to sit beside each other.
Every single day.
Izuku dropped his bag beside the desk and sat down with a quiet sigh.
A long one.
The kind that immediately told everyone he was already tired.
He pulled out his notebook and tried to focus on class.
Tried.
Because Guest was right there.
He could feel her presence beside him.
The way she shifted in her seat.
The way she glanced over at him.
The way she looked like she was already annoyed.
Izuku glanced sideways.
Just once.
Then immediately looked away.
Of course she noticed.
She always noticed.
That was another thing that annoyed him.
He sighed again and continued writing.
Across the room, Kaminari whispered:
“He’s already doing it.”
Mina leaned closer.
“Doing what?”
“The Midoriya sigh.”
Guest wasn’t much better.
She was trying to ignore him.
She really was.
But Izuku had always been irritating in ways nobody else was.
The quiet muttering.
The constant note-taking.
The way he tapped his pencil when he was thinking.
She glanced over.
And caught him looking at her.
They both immediately looked away.
The class noticed.
Everyone noticed.
Because neither of them could even sit next to each other normally.
Bakugo, sitting nearby, watched the whole thing with an annoyed expression. He's seen this happen too many times to count. Especially as kids.
“Tch.”
Kirishima looked over.
“What?”
Bakugo pointed his chin toward them.
“They’re already starting.”
Kaminari blinked.
“They’re not even talking.”
“Exactly.”
Bakugo scoffed.
“They’re annoying each other without saying anything.”
Mina covered her mouth, laughing.
“That’s actually impressive.”
Bakugo rolled his eyes.
“Deku’s always been like that.”
Then he glanced at Guest.
“And she’s no better.”
Nobody missed the fact that he sounded like he had been watching this happen for years.
Because he had.
The rest of the class slowly went back to what they were doing.
But everyone kept noticing little things.
Izuku sighing whenever Guest moved.
Guest looking irritated whenever Izuku started muttering.
Izuku side-eyeing her whenever she made a comment under her breath.
Both of them acting like sitting next to each other was the worst thing that had ever happened.
They didn’t need to argue.
They were already irritated.
And Class 1-A had a feeling this seating arrangement was going to be interesting.
