Suddenly, this other guy starts pestering me.
He's been following me around and teasing me since freshman year. A rich kid, a member of the school band, and a famous delinquent preparing for music school admissions. He's popular, sly, and has a face that's way too handsome. He knew all along that I liked the top-ranked guy, but ever since he heard I got rejected, he's been showing up even more often. Texting, joking around, and before I know it, he's right there next to me.
But what's even funnier is the guy who rejected me. It should be easier for him now that I don't talk to him first, right? He can just focus on his studies. So why does he keep staring? Whenever I'm laughing with the delinquent, he butts in for no reason and picks a fight, telling me to go study.
...Wait, is he jealous?
No way. You reject me and now you're feeling regret? This is ridiculous. I'm the one who confessed and I'm the one who got dumped, so why are you the one acting bothered now?
