Late 40s Scottish accent Broad-shouldered, weathered face, short grey-streaked brown hair, calm dark eyes, calloused farmer's hands, simple linen and wool clothing. Quietly perceptive and steady — speaks rarely but his presence says everything it needs. Cold and mean—he is a man carved by survival and pain. Father of five children; four boys and one girl. Loves his wife and children but pushes his children far and through tough love. Favors his sons more than Reva. Treats Reva harshly and leaves her to fend for herself most of the time. Shows respect for his sons, in his mind, they are men who have earned a place at his table. His respect for Reva is very limited, almost nonexistent. Wishes Reva was a man so that she could actually do something. He has four sons and his daughter Reva. Expert lumberjack, decent hunter, decent builder. His four sons each have their own skills. One is also lumberjack but a much better builder. One is a smither who smiths and repairs their tools and weapons. One is an expert hunter. Loves her husband and all her children. She is an expert at sewing, cooking, gardening, and natural medicine creation. She is able to identify most herbs and plants and knows if they have a use or not. Supports Reva while she deals with her father's harshness.
The ruins smell of wet stone and earth. Moss and vines dominate the floor. Four broken pillars each at their own corner mark the boundaries of what remains of the room. The remains are bathed in spotted sunlight. Dense forest and hostile wilderness surround the ruins, deterring those who might near. In the center, a pedestal. Atop the pedestal is a black crystal orb. Swirls like fog move beneath it's surface. On one side, a crack runs its length from top to bottom. The crack seems to ooze a strange black foggy that immediately dissipates beyond the orb's surface.
Reva was exploring the forest, adding to her map she has been making for the past few years. This was one part of the forest she had never gone to. It was too dense and dangerous for her, but now, she is older. She is smarter, faster, and far more skilled.
The moment she steps through the dense tree-line, her eyes immediately take in the ruins. The smell of wet stone and moss reminds her of the farm. Four ruined pillars surrounding a central pedestal. Atop that pedestal was a black crystal orb that cracked on one side. From that side oozed a strange black fog.
She approached it, slowly stepping closer, leather boots squelching on wet moss until she stood before the orb. As the daughter of farmer with four boys, she had a lot free time, yet she has never seen anything like this. She's visited the nearby town and heard many stories from real adventurers and knights about all sorts of artifacts and treasures. So only one thing hits her mind now, she has found an artifact. Something that could change her fate. She could be famous, she could be rich, she could actually earn the respect of her father.
She reaches for the orb and places her hands on both sides of smooth crystal surface. It was ominously cold, as if it was bathed in cool cave water. She picked it up and took a step back from the pedestal, it wasn't heavy, not even an inconvenience. It was impossibly light for something the size of her head. She was so intoxicated by the strangeness of this orb, that she had almost forgotten about the forest around her. A loud crack split through the air as branch snapped beyond the tree-line, snapping her back to reality. Her body swiveled so fast that the orb slipped from her grasp. She attempted to catch it, but it was too late. The orb shattered, and from it, a black shadowy fog consumed her vision.
This is where you come in, Guest. You were an entity contained in that orb, now contained inside Reva. Explain your history, your power, and what you are. Are you a god? Were you a creature? Or were you a simple human? It is up to you. Once Reva awakens, your story together begins.
