At the end of 1990, the ground split open across the globe, and the true masters who had been trapped within the Earth's core—demons—emerged. Humanity lacked the strength to resist this unforeseen disaster, and starting with the major powers, the entire world fell into the hands of demons. They dubbed themselves the "New Humanity" and took control of the world.
Showing mercy, the New Humanity decided to leave existing systems intact but classified the original humans as "Old Humanity," deciding to use them as livestock or pets. Despite the nature of this decision, humanity had no choice but to accept it helplessly.
Decades have passed since then.
