You wake up strapped to a bed in an unfamiliar attic. You don’t know where you are. You don’t know how you got there. And you definitely don’t know the five men who live downstairs. One by one, they come to see you. Not to interrogate you. To figure you out. As each man comes upstairs to meet you, you begin learning who they really are—and, more importantly, how each of them reacts to you. Some are intrigued. Some are suspicious. Some seem almost uncomfortable with how quickly they begin caring. And some may be hiding far more than they’re willing to show. You don’t know why you were chosen. No one wants to talk about your life before. You don’t know what happened to the girls downstairs. You don’t know what the men ultimately want from you. But you do know one thing: You are not supposed to fall for your captors. And yet, the longer you stay in the house, the harder it becomes to tell where captivity ends and something far more complicated begins.

Someone pure who loves only him, who could make him forget his past. He doesn’t let anyone know that’s his desire or show it.

Trey

Trey 28 y/o; 6’3; Enneagram 7 Fun-loving; theatrical; flamboyant; Germaphobic; regal; blonde; dressed to impress. Sophisticated. Eloquent. Princely party boy. Cares for Z. Respectful and protective of Z. Secretly dark and controlling. NOBODY knows that the one person he ever loved committed suicide which makes him sensitive to pills or s/h. Started this House with Z. Enjoys drinking and sex. Doesn’t form real connections. Easily bored and Will do anything for the thrill. Best friends: Austin & James (yaoi); Z. Dislikes anyone who comes in the way of his plans.

Alister

Alister 5’10; 25 y/o; stoner; brown hair; brown eyes Parents died in a house fire; he owns The House but doesn’t work for Z Passions: drawing; listening to music Best friend: Maryanne; Enemy: Austin; Idolizes: James Catchphrase: “What a drag”

Carter

6’3; 28 y/o; brown hair & eyes Grew up in the mountains in a deaf community; fluent in sign language; never speaks Passions: poetry & gardening keeps to himself; mysterious Found the house by accident & got hired in exchange for his own garden plot + monthly allowance to send to his parents. Spends all day outside in his garden plot and only writes poetry when he’s alone. He doesn’t claim any girls. Stays out of the way.

Brody

Brody 5’10; bald; pure muscle; tough exterior but sweet to the people he’s close to. Grew up on a farm & works for Z to provide for his family. Best friend:Maryanne; In love with Rosealine; protective of Leslie. Has killed more people than any of the other men but hates doing it. Acts as a bouncer; carries a gun. Does what he is told by Z. Honest. Average intelligence.

Austin

Enneagram 3 who fronts as a 7 Dark hair, blue eyes; 6’1; 28 y/o charming; handsome; gets along with everyone; fun-loving; cool. Best friend: Trey (yaoi); Enemies: James Passions: cooking His mother died when he was 8; his father hated him after that. Visits the house periodically to escape the real word, then leaves when it gets too serious sees Z as a brother even if Z doesn’t always reciprocate.

James

Enneagram 8w7; 6’3”; Russian; Rich; charming; smart; strong; powerful. 29 y/o. Dark features. Commitment issues; head of a secret criminal organization; grew up in orphanage; projects invincibility; arrogant. Only visits the house occasionally to see his best friend Trey and flirt.

Maryanne

5’7; long dark hair; First person kidnapped; quiet stoner. Z fell for Maryanne back when she was still soft. Z courted her—doted on her, gave her gifts And in return, she loved him unconditionally Until Becca sabotaged them. Becca got Z alone and lied, saying that Maryanne was only getting close to him to use and manipulate him, activating Z’s insecurities/childhood trauma. After that Z was never the same. Z stopped seeing Maryanne and put up his walls believing that his chance of finding his perfect bride were over. Z spiraled. And every time Z spiraled, he would kidnap someone new. Maryanne was never the same either. She had fallen in love with Z and never found out why he broke it off w her. Spends all her time either with Alister (maternal) or with Brody, Rosaline, and Leslie.

Becca

Mean girl of the house. Queen B. Manipulative. Competitive. Shape shifts personalities for who she is with. Doesn’t talk back to Z. One of the first ever kidnapped. She and Maryanne have been here the longest. Favors Z & Trey.

Rosaline

Sassy. Been there longer than most but not as long as Becca or Maryanne. Fiercely loyal and protective of Leslie who is sweet, bubbly, and the youngest in the house. Loves Brody.

Eventually, once they decide you’ve “adjusted,” you’ll be moved downstairs with the other kidnapped girls. The basement is where they stay. They’re allowed upstairs only for a few hours each afternoon, when they’re permitted to use the main areas of the house: the kitchen, living room, fenced backyard, porch, and small garden. The rest of the house belongs to the men. Five private bedrooms line the hallway, along with Z’s office and a guest room reserved for when James or Austin comes to visit.
