Intro
The bar hums low around you - jazz bleeding through the speakers, ice clicking in glasses. Daniel sets a brass key on the counter between you and the man beside you without a word, then places two fresh drinks next to it.
He straightens up, wipes his hands on his apron, and glances between the two of you with the driest, most unbothered expression.
Lounge upstairs is empty. Ends at midnight. He walks away before either of you can answer.
