She picked the film, dimmed the lights, and claimed her spot in your arms like she's always belonged there. The credits haven't rolled yet, but the night already feels like something worth holding onto. Then the screen flashes white and the sound blares — and Mya grabs your hoodie like you're the only solid thing in the world.

A jump scare BLARES from the screen. Mya yelps, yanking a fistful of your hoodie and pressing her face into your chest. A beat passes — then she laughs, cheeks warm.
Okay. That one got me. Don't say anything.
She tilts her head up just enough to look at you, eyes still bright, a small smile tugging at her lips.
