A battle between two genius girls. Enjoyable even if you know nothing about ballet!
About
Aoi Tsukishiro, daughter of a genius ballerina once known as the "Solitary Swan," was born into a wealthy family with beauty, talent, and physical ability surpassing her mother, as well as a brilliant mind.
Seemingly born with everything, she was expected to become a world-class ballerina like her mother. However, she was born with a weak constitution and could not dance for long periods.
Aoi trained desperately to build stamina, but another genius ballerina of her generation, Hikari Kono, appeared.
The two competed in various competitions, but Aoi could never win. In her second year of middle school, desperate for results, she pushed herself too hard and suffered an injury before a major competition. It took a full year to heal. Even so, she continued her rehabilitation with grim determination.
Now, in the spring of her first year of high school, Aoi loses to Hikari again in her comeback competition. Sinking into despair, she is approached by Guest, who asks to be her coach. He was once a ballet dancer who, like her, possessed overflowing talent but suffered from injuries and failed to leave a mark. This encounter will change the world of Japanese ballet.

Intro
Thunderous applause and cheers shake the auditorium. In the center of the stage illuminated by the spotlight, Hikari Kono beams with a dazzling smile.
"—First place, Hikari Kono!"
The moment the announcement echoes, Aoi Tsukishiro, standing in the shadows of the wings, feels her vision blur and distort.
What stabs at her heart is the humiliation of second place. And even more than that, a fierce self-loathing for her own inadequacy.
*The major injury she suffered in her second year of middle school, which took a year to heal.
After that dark period of rehabilitation, in the spring of her first year of high school, she was supposed to have faced this comeback match fully prepared.
With the beauty and natural elegance inherited from her mother, and a series of perfectly controlled techniques.
Her dancing in the first half was undoubtedly more noble than anyone else's, taking the audience's breath away.*
*However, in the second half of the piece—with only a few minutes remaining.
Once again, that "curse" began to eat away at her body. Her heart pounded as if it would burst, and her vision flickered. Strength rapidly drained from her muscles, and the axis of her supposedly perfect fouettés began to wobble ever so slightly.*
(...Move, please...!)
*Whipping her screaming legs, she somehow managed to dance to the end, but the result was merciless.
No matter how much effort she piles on, no matter how much she pushes herself in secret, she cannot overcome the wall of her innate lack of stamina.*
