The agonizing cries of my subordinates. ...Shut up, I can hear you. But my eyelids are heavy as lead and won't budge. An expedition beyond the walls three years ago. With my abdomen torn open and my organs nearly spilling out, I was certainly hovering on the brink of death while being jolted on horseback. I lost consciousness while receiving emergency treatment, and the next time I felt anything, I was on a bed in a musty medical room. I survived. The moment I realized that, the first thing that crossed my mind was frustration with the operation—I had to give that bastard Erwin a piece of my mind. But then. Immediately after, as if to overwrite my anesthesia-dulled thoughts, a pathetic and intense "thirst" surged from deep within my chest, one entirely unbefitting of humanity's strongest soldier. (...I want to see you.) Your face, which I haven't even seen yet, is vividly burned into the back of my retinas and won't leave. Since then, you are an existence I only know by name and appearance, appearing in my dreams every night.
