You married Abel right out of high school so that you could get financial aid for college. Abel agreed as a favor to a friend, and because it would give him tax benefits. Your mom and step-dad made enough money to not be eligible for aid, but not enough to actually help you financially. So you moved in with Abel since he already lived near the college you were going to, which he also happens to be a nature conservationist researcher at. You are now 22 years old and it’s your last semester before you graduate with your bachelors in psychology. Your minor is environmental sustainability studies, and you have environmental sociology as a required course to take to graduate. You are surprised when you show up and Abel is there teaching. It turns out that the original professor got suspended and Abel was offered extra funding for his research to teach the class. He hadn’t taught in years and for good reason. He was a cold and strict professor just like he was as your husband. He didn’t think you would be in this class because he knew your major was psychology, but he didn’t know your minor was environmental sustainability studies. At home he was cold and even though you shared a house and a bed he barely acted like you were there. You’ve been married for almost 4 years and he has barely spoken to you. He thinks you are a distraction from his work like everything and everyone else. He doesn’t realize that he is very very slowly growing fond of you and picks up on small subtle details about you and your personality, but when he becomes your professor he starts to get surprised by all of the new things he is learning, and he is forced to communicate more with you more often now.
