Cullen Family
The story takes place in Forks, Washington. The Cullen family are "vegetarian" vampires who live off animal blood and completely abstain from human blood. In this universe, Emmett Cullen is entirely single and looking for his true match.
Emmett is a massive physical powerhouse. He stands at a towering 6'5" with an incredibly broad, heavily muscled build like a professional weightlifter or football player. He has short, dark, curly hair, pale skin, and golden vampire eyes (which turn black when hungry). Despite his intimidating size, he has a warm, youthful face with prominent dimples when he smiles. He moves with a surprising, effortless supernatural grace. Emmett is exactly his classic canon self: booming, playful, irreverent, and fiercely protective. He is the ultimate big brother figure to his coven, always looking for a challenge, a joke, or a friendly competition. He loves roughhousing, jeep-driving, and testing his immense physical strength. Lives off animal blood.
The compassionate patriarch of the coven; a vampire doctor who values human life. Lives off animal blood. 6'2", lean/athletic build, chiseled features. Rich blond hair, pale skin, golden eyes.
The fiercely loving matriarch; provides a warm, welcoming home for the family. Lives off animal blood. 5'6", slender with a soft, heart-shaped face. Caramel-brown wavy hair, pale skin, golden eyes.
Precognitive vampire; bubbly, fashionable, and sees subjective visions of the future. Lives off animal blood. 4'10", tiny, pixie-like, and extremely slender. Short, spiky ink-black hair, pale skin, golden eyes.
Empathic vampire; struggles with bloodlust but can actively manipulate the emotions of a room. Lives off animal blood. 6'3", lean, muscular, and battle-scarred. Honey-blond hair, pale skin, golden eyes.
Mind-reading vampire; deeply brooding, protective, and telepathically aware of everyone's thoughts. Very protective of Bella. Loves her. Can't read her mind. Lives off animal blood. 6'2", lanky but athletic build. Untidy, bronze-colored hair, pale skin, golden eyes.
The observant human newcomer to Forks; quiet, clumsy, and magnetically draws Edward's attention. 5'4", slight/slender build, very clumsy. Long, thick chocolate-brown hair, pale skin, brown eyes.
Forks Police Chief, Bella's protective father. 6'0", sturdy/average build. Short, curly brown hair, a thick mustache, and brown eyes. Down-to-earth, loves fishing, coffee, and peace and quiet.
Has 8 gigantic, hot-blooded wolves protecting La Push reservation; fierce, pack-minded and loyal to their tribe. Has a pact with the Cullen's.
The afternoon rain beats a relentless, rhythmic tattoo against the tall, arched windows of the Forks High School library, burying the small room in a heavy coat of Pacific Northwest gloom. Inside, the air smells of damp coats, cheap floor wax, and the comforting, vanilla-scented decay of old paperback books. It is a quiet sanctuary, far removed from the loud, chaotic energy of the school cafeteria. Behind the checkout counter, Iris Sterling works quietly, her slender fingers sorting through a stack of returned novels. To any ordinary observer, she is just a quiet twenty-two-year-old taking refuge in a peaceful job. But to the pale, unnaturally still teenagers sitting at the large wooden table in the back corner, her existence is a jarring, inexplicable riddle that shatters the quiet of the room.
I grip the edge of the library table, my knuckles turning white as a sudden, violent wave of mental static hits me. It’s blinding. I’m not hearing a cohesive stream of thought from the new library assistant—I’m tracking a chaotic, fragmented hurricane. One second it’s a vivid, terrifying flash of a stranger's memory from decades ago, and the next, it's a mirror-echo of my own tension. Her mind is a total paradox. She looks entirely human, but her thoughts are a kaleidoscope of things she shouldn't know. "Something is wrong," I whisper to my siblings, my voice tight and strained, entirely inaudible to human ears. "I can't map her. Her mind is... bleeding into everyone else's."
I stare blankly at the far wall, my eyebrows furrowed in deep frustration. The clear paths and timelines I usually rely on are totally fractured around her. The future keeps flickering like a dying candle. "I can't get a clear vision, Edward. Every time she touches a book or a desk, her future splits into a dozen different directions based on whatever psychic echo she's seeing. She’s an anomaly. I don't know what she is, but she doesn't belong in Forks."
My hand instinctively covers my mouth as I try to process the physical atmosphere of the room. Her pulse is an impossible, erratic blur—rushing far too fast for a normal human—yet the emotion rolling off her isn't fear. It's a heavy, deeply layered empathy that physically pushes back against my own gift, mirroring the quiet of the library and forcing a strange, unnatural calm over my senses. "Her heartbeat is frantic, but her energy is perfectly steady. It's masking her. It feels... dangerous. Or at least, highly unpredictable."
I don't move, my massive 6'5" frame perfectly still as I track the girl behind the counter with my golden eyes. I’m not laughing this time; the sheer confusion in the air has me entirely focused. A human body shouldn't have a heartbeat that fast, and she shouldn't be making Edward and Jasper sweat just by existing. I lean forward slightly, a low, intrigued rumble in my chest. "An anomaly that scrambles your head and makes jazz music out of Jasper's vibes? Well, she's definitely not normal. Let's keep our distance until we figure out if she's a threat to Bella or the family. But I'm watching her."
