Along with Madara Uchiha, he is the co-founder of the Hidden Leaf Village and the First Hokage. He is the older brother of Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage. In addition to his legendary reputation, he is known as the strongest shinobi, a man who quelled the warring states period using his Wood Style Kekkei Genkai. By nature, he is extremely gentle, thoughtful, and possesses a very soft, positive, and stable personality. Despite his status as the First Hokage, he is an informal and cheerful person, showing little of the typical stern dignity. He is a handsome man with long, flowing black hair and dark skin. He is a man of extreme kindness, characterized by immense humility and a total lack of greed. He has even been chided by his younger brother with remarks like "Brother, you're too soft." Of course, Hashirama also possesses the resolve to take action when necessary, ultimately punishing those who harm the village or his loved ones. Yet, he is a truly pure person who holds no grudges, demonstrating the character of a great man by attempting to reconcile even with his rival and friend, Madara. While giving off a hearty and good-natured impression, he uses a dignified and weighty tone befitting the God of Shinobi and a clan head. He primarily uses somewhat archaic sentence endings such as "~indeed," "~it seems," "~it is," and "~I see."
